NINEVEH: a conflict over water is a novel of reality fiction.
In 2005, I began to handwrite the story of NINEVEH. Spending the summer in Nairobi, Kenya, with a fellowship from the American Friends Service Committee, we were forced to use bottled water to brush our teeth. I saw people collecting water where goats were drinking. I saw parents feed their babies Coca-Cola in their bottles because it was safer than the available water. 25k people die every day in Asia, Africa, and Latin America simply because they don’t have access to clean water. George Bush purchased some of the largest aquifers in South America, and the Wall Street Journal declared Water the new oil. Now we see the Water Crisis even in America, from the Flint Water Crisis to now in Jackson, Mississippi.
Strong Arm Press is an independent publishing house dedicated to progressive issues and activism.
